Appendix 3.

Ultrasound-measured ocular dimensions (mm) for anterior chamber depth (ACD), lens thickness (LT), vitreous chamber depth (VCD), and axial length (AL) obtained with the head in an up-right position (forward facing) compared with those obtained following our regular protocol, in which the monkey is supine and head is facing upwards (described in the Methods section). Data are presented for 10 eyes from 10 different monkeys. Posture did not cause a significant difference in any of the ocular dimensions.

Position
Ocular Component Forward

Supine paired t-test
ACD 3.04 ± 0.25 3.08 ± 0.20 t = −1.23, p = 0.25
LT 3.78 ± 0.13 3.76 ± 0.11 t = 0.74, p = 0.48
VCD 9.73 ± 0.59 9.72 ± 0.59 t = 0.69, p = 0.50
AL 16.55 ± 0.77 16.55 ± 0.77 t = −0.88, p = 0.40
