Th subsets display distinct metabolic programs. Quiescent Th cells rely mainly on oxidative phosphorylation (Ox.Phos) to maintain homeostasis, while the effector subsets are characterized by increased glycolytic metabolism (Glc) as well as a differential reliance on glutaminolysis (Gln), fatty acid oxidation (FAO and fatty acid synthesis (FAS) to support effector functions.
