Relative mRNA abundance at E10, E14 and E17 of the digestive enzyme APN and peptide and amino acid transporters EAAT, PepT1, LAT1 and gLAT2 in the yolk sac membrane of the pHu+ and pHu− lines. Relative expression of genes (normalised by YWAHZ mRNA) was determined by real-time PCR. Data are expressed as means ± s.e.m. (N = 10). Mean comparisons were analysed by the Kruskal–Wallis test. Mean values without a common letter differ between groups (a, b, c) or between ages (A,B) (P ≤ 0.05). a.u.: arbitrary unit.
