Fig. 7 — Transient mesenchymal cell senescence occurs in adipose tissue in physiological wound healing after injury; however, accumulation of cell senescence occurs concurrently with expression of different components of SASP in diabetic wound healing. Our data suggest that impairment of senescence in adipose tissue contributes to intractable wound healing in diabetes.
