Figure 2.

PROMIS-29 scores of survivors of severe COVID-19.

Mean scores of the 7 domains in PROMIS-29 and cognitive function, and global mental and physical health scores of patients who survived severe COVID-19 and returned surveys. Norm-based scores have been calculated for each domain so that a score of 50 (standard deviation [SD] = 10), as indicated by the dotted line, represents the average of the general U.S. population. A score of 40 is one SD lower than the mean of the reference population, while a score of 60 is one SD higher than the mean of the reference population. Higher scores represent worse symptomatology in anxiety, depression, fatigue, sleep disturbance, and pain interference. In physical function, social participation and cognition, a higher score signals better functioning.
