Atm is required within Scgb1a1+ cells for regeneration of the airway epithelium at day 14 postinfection. Control and Scgb1a1-CreERTM;AtmF/F;mTmG mice were administered 0.1 mg/g tamoxifen in corn oil for 4 days. Two weeks after tamoxifen, control, and Scgb1a1−CreERTM;AtmF/F;mTmG mice were infected with 105 PFU of HKx31. A: lung function was analyzed on naïve (tamoxifen induced) mice at 14 dpi.
