Type 2 alarmin cytokines orchestrate immune responses in the skin. Epidermis-derived TSLP, IL-25, and IL-33 act as alarmins to instigate cutaneous type 2 immunity through a complex and pleiotropic network of innate and adaptive immune cells. In addition, TSLP and IL-33 provoke sensory neurons to mediate itch and pain responses.
