Type 2 alarmin cytokines exhibit pro-homeostatic properties in the skin. The function of type 2 alarmin cytokines extends beyond their conventional Th2-associated function in host defense and allergy. In the skin, these cytokines play critical roles in cancer regulation and sebum secretion. ILC, innate lymphoid cell; MRSA, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus; ROS, reactive oxygen species; TSLP, thymic stromal lymphopoietin; TSLPR, thymic stromal lymphopoietin receptor.
