The breakpoints used were those described in NCCLS document M100-S9 (7). The respective concentrations for the susceptible/intermediate/resistant breakpoints were ≤0.25/NA/NA μg/ml for trovafloxacin and ceftriaxone; ≤0.06/0.12 to 0.5/≥1 μg/ml for grepafloxacin and ciprofloxacin, ≤0.25/0.5 to 1/≥2 μg/ml for ofloxacin and tetracycline, ≤32/64/≥128 for spectinomycin, ≤2/4/≥8 μg/ml for cephoxitin, and ≤0.06/0.12 to 1/≥2 μg/ml for penicillin.

b
