Palmitic and oleic acid differently modulates inflammatory responses in macrophages. BMDMs from C57BL/6 mice were primed with PA, OA (100 µM) or vehicle (Veh) for 24 h, followed by the subsequent application of LTA (5 µg/mL) for a further 24 h. Supernatant concentrations of TNF-α (a), IL-6 (b) and nitrite (d), along with cellular expression of iNOS (c), were measured. Data is presented as mean ± SEM (n = 6–8 replicates, from 3 independent experiments).
