The scheme shows the uptake of l-aspartate by DcuA and ammonium release by the DcuA-AspA metabolon, the ammonium assimilation via the common GS-GOGAT pathway yielding L-Glu, and the regulation of AspA by the GlnB regulatory system and regulatory factors.
