Data are presented in response to increased doses of acetylcholine (ACh) alone [control (Con)] and during concurrent nitric oxide synthase inhibition [NG-nitro-l-arginine methyl ester (l-NAME)] in A and C and as areas under the dose-response curve in B and D. When compared with HA, endothelium-dependent dilation was blunted in adults with MDD before (A and B), but not after (C and D), short-term salsalate administration. B, baseline.
