Since January 2020 Elsevier has created a COVID-19 resource centre with free information in English and Mandarin on the novel coronavirus COVID-19. Fig. 1 — Study area and the location of eleven public places. Guangzhou was selected as a case study and it was divided 1000 m*1000 m grids. 1559 grids were finally selected as the study area and the population of these grids accounted for 91% of the total population of Guangzhou. We assumed that the epidemic occurred in eleven public places and it corresponded to eleven simulation scenarios (scenario 1–11).
