Clusters of collapsed hyphae with extremely bright, diffuse, green-yellow fluorescence without vacuolar structures are displayed by dead fungi. (D) A. fumigatus hyphae treated with 16 μg of voriconazole per ml for 48 h. Only one fragment of hyphae is apparently vital.
