Fig. 2 — Manual definition of the trabecular volume of interest (VOI) by one reader (C. Booz, radiology resident with 4 years of experience in musculoskeletal imaging) using specific DECT postprocessing software (LiverLab; Fraunhofer IGD) (a). This was repeated throughout the entire stack of 2D slices for each vertebra. The resulting three-dimensional VOI (b) served as input for volumetric DECT BMD assessment in combination with the two DECT series (90 and Sn150 kVp).
