Cohort identification. A total of 5,955 patients with infantile spasms (IS) were identified in Pediatric Hospital Information System (PHIS) using ICD-9 codes. We then filtered for medications and timeframe, performed propensity score matching, and finally, 986 patients were selected for analyses (493 in each drug cohort).
