LA- and ZI-projecting CR neurons show partial overlap in the PIL

AAV2/2Retro-hEF1a-DIO-eYFP and AAV2/2Retro-hEF1a-DIO-mCherry were injected into the LA and ZI regions, respectively, and allowed to retrograde back to the PIL region. The eFYP⁺ neurons indicate LA-projecting CR neurons, the mCherry⁺ neurons indicate ZI-projecting CR neurons, and the yellow neurons (white arrows) indicate collateral-projecting CR neurons.
