Early antiviral treatment reduces the severity of acute MCMV-induced myocarditis. BALB/c mice were inoculated with 104 PFU of MCMV i.p. at day 0 and treated with either GCV (A) or CDV (B) daily from day 1 to 7 p.i. or treated with saline as a placebo.
