A. H. bluephagenesis TDH4ΔphaP1 has an IPTG‐inducible P _Mmp1 promotor for phaCAB expression.

B. Shake flask production of P(3HB‐co‐4HB): 10 mg l⁻¹ IPTG and 5 g l⁻¹ γ‐butyrolactone were added at OD₆₀₀ = 2 (≈ 4 h) and OD₆₀₀ = 6 (≈ 8 h), respectively.
