COVID-19 is leading to more deaths. (A) SARS-CoV-2 was linked to the highest rate of mild-to-moderate pneumonia. (B) SARS-CoV-2 has caused the highest number of deaths despite having the lowest mortality rate. (C) SARS-CoV-2 caused the highest number of deaths per month. (D) SARS-CoV-2 mainly infected middle-aged and elderly people, but the age-related increase in mortality was delayed. (E) The infection and mortality rates of SARS-CoV-2 varied by country.
