Flowchart for identification of early left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDDF) in the general population. Echocardiographic abnormalities include: low LA strain (<23%), LA enlargement (LAVi ≥45 mL/m2), tricuspid regurgitation (intense flow with peak TR velocity >2.5 m/s) and prolonged reverse atrial flow (i.e. mitral atrial flow ≤ reverse pulmonary vein flow—10 ms).
