The transversus abdominis plane (TAP). The transversus abdominis plane is located between the internal oblique muscle (IOM) and the transversus abdominis muscle (TAM). The thoracoabdominal nerves T7 to L1 that provide sensibility to the anterior abdominal wall from the xiphoid to the pubis are found within the transversus abdominis plane.
