Fig. 1. Schematic of the method to fabricate the GNP–PTFE nanocomposites. Step 1: graphene dispersion was prepared by liquid phase exfoliation of graphite sheets in ethanol via tip sonication. Step 2: PTFE powders were added into the graphene dispersions and then fully mixed with GNPs while removing the ethanol using a heating magnetic stirrer for 6 h at 60 °C. Subsequently, the slurry was vacuum dried at 60 °C for 24 h to remove the residual ethanol in the GNP–PTFE powder. Step 3: the GNP–PTFE nanocomposites were fabricated by cold pressing with a mould and sintering.
