CPT strongly promotes p53, p21, and cytochrome c expression. (A) U87 MG cells were treated with either 5 μM niclosamide (Nicl), 5 μM CPT, or a combination of both for 24 hours. Thereafter, the cells were collected, and the cell lysate was prepared for Western blot analysis. The proteins were resolved by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with specific antibodies against p21, p53, and cytochrome c. β-Actin was used as the loading control. (B) p53 protein expression levels.
