^aReaction conditions: 1a (0.5 mmol), 4-methylbenzenesulfinic acid or sodium 4-methylbenzenesulfinate (1.0 mmol), KI (1 equiv.), H₂O₂ (1 mL), reaction time 5 min (0.5 mL HOAc was added, when sodium 4-methylbenzenesulfinate is used as sulfur source). The yields of isolated products are given.
