Extracts from plants known to have antileukemic compounds showed strong inhibitory effects on the seedlings of Lolium perenne (A) and Lactuca sativa (B). Experiments were conducted in triplicate. The concentrations that produced 50% growth inhibition (GI50) of germination and the growth of seedlings, roots, and shoots were calculated from a nonlinear regression of concentration–response models. All data are presented as the mean ± SEM (C).
