Identification of Pep5 prepeptide by Western blot analysis. Total cell extracts of the respective strains were separated by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and immunoblotted with anti-Pep5 leader peptide antiserum. SDS-stable Pep5 prepeptide dimers and trimers (lanes 2 and 4) have been described previously (39).
