Mechanism of action of angiotensin II under physiological conditions (black arrows) and its negative effect induced by inhibition of ACE2 receptors by SARS‐CoV‐2 virus (green arrows). Inhibition of ACE2 receptors by SARS‐CoV‐2 virus binding results in a fourfold increase in angiotensin II levels, resulting in cell apoptosis followed by inflammation.
