(B) The AIY neuron is located in a group of three neurons posterior to the excretory cell (Exc) and expresses the pan-neuronal marker rgef-1 (rgef-1p::dsRed2, otIs173) in wild type L4 larvae. In mig-32 and spat-3 mutants, the AIY neurons that have lost ttx-3pB::gfp expression still express the pan-neuronal marker rgef-1p::dsRed2 (5 AIY neurons with loss of ttx-3pB::gfp expression analyzed for each mutant genotype). Note that the rgef-1p::dsRed2 signal is mostly cytoplasmic (lower in the nucleus), scale bar = 5 μm.
