Strong-scaling performance of the multi-area model on JURECA-DC. Same display as in Figure 4. The multi-area model is simulated in its meta-stable state leading to a high amount of spikes that are communicated. The model time is T_model = 10 s. Simulations are repeated for 10 different random seeds. (A) NEST 2.20.2 (latest NEST 2 release). (B) NEST 3.0 release candidate. (C) NEST 3.0 release candidate with shrinking MPI buffers.
