Breakpoints were taken as the shift from pink, representing viable bacterial cells, to violet/blue colour. Accordingly, the MIC values were determined to 80 mg/l for (a) C. ureicelerivorans and (b) 2,000 mg/l for S. aureus ATCC^® 25923.
