CC-125, cia5 mutant cells, and the rescued cia5-C strains were grown and dark adapted as described in the legend of Fig. 1 and then transferred to HSM or HSM + 5% CO2 for 1 hour at LL (30 μmol of photons m−2 s−1), ML (120 μmol of photons m−2 s−1), or VHL (1000 μmol of photons m−2 s−1).
