Table 3.
Mean values of the internode diameter, number of pods at apical stems, raceme length, and maturity for soybeans having different genotype combinations in field experiments at two different southern environments in 2019 and 2020 (19GA and 20TN).

Each genotype category has an unequal number of soybean lines and n represents number of lines within each of the genotype categories. SD represents mean of stem diameters (mm) measured at first, middle, and last internode at maturity. Pod represents number of pods at apical stems, and RL represents raceme length in cm. DTM was measured by plot. For other traits, total five individual plants per line for 19GA, and maximum thirty individual plants per line for 20TN (10 plants by 3 reps; but data from 20 plots with poor germination were not included for the data analysis) were sampled for phenotyping. Mean values of each trait were obtained by averaging the means of lines within each genotype category, and standard deviations are listed after the mean values (±). Means followed by the same letter were not significantly different from each other at 95% confidence with Fisher's least significant difference (LSD) procedure.
