Correction to: A survey of TIR domain sequence and structure divergence

The initially published version of the above article contained an error in the labeling of two subgroups of group 3 TIR domains. Specifically, subgroups 3.4 and 3.5 were mislabeled in Fig. 1e, Supplemental Fig. 1 (page 29), and the sentence “TLR3-, TLR4-, and TLR5-related TIR domains form subgroups 3.4, 3.7, and 3.5, respectively” (p. 187). The correct labeling should indicate that subgroup 3.4 corresponds to TLR5 TIR domains, whereas subgroup 3.5 comprises TLR3 TIRs, and not vice versa. Please note that the subgroups are labeled correctly in Supplemental Fig. 2, which explicitly shows all sequences that constitute groups and subgroups of the hierarchy.
