Trial structure. In each session, the participants listened to one story from the collection ‘The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes’. Each story was further split into subsections which correspond to experimental runs. The structure of one run is depicted here. After listening to the subsection, the participants answered a simple multiple choice comprehension question and rated the information density and absorption levels of the heard subsection. After the responses, each participants listened to a short story snippet repeated twice. For the repeated section, the same stimulus (taken from Sherlock Holmes story not used in the main set) was used after each run.
