All cultures were obtained from either the University of Wisconsin Department of Bacteriology (UW) or the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH). Some cultures obtained from the UW collection are also on deposit at the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); the culture identifiers for the latter collections are given in parentheses for cross-reference.
