Concentrations of E. coli O157:H7 recovered in intact soil core leachate samples after eight 25-mm day⁻¹ rainfall events for three soil types. Duplicate cores received either manure with inoculum or inoculum alone. The standard error bars represent means of two replicates for a total of 12 intact soil cores. Both clay loam intact cores with manure and one core without manure became clogged after 3 days, which resulted in leachate levels of B6914 that were lower than the levels for other soils.
