^aGlucose and MSG were each present at a concentration of 5 g · liter⁻¹. While levels of citrinin and pigments were determined throughout growth, only the maximal values are reported. For most of the experiments, the maximum was reached between 130 and 160 h of growth. The data reported are from one typical experiment which was repeated twice with consistent results (standard deviation, about 10%).
