Calculation of segmental myocardial work by pressure strain-analysis. Myocardial work by pressure strain analysis is calculated as a function of time throughout the cardiac cycle. The calculational steps include (1) the differentiation of the segmental strain (%) in order to obtain the strain rate (%/s) which was then (2) multiplied with the left ventricular pressure (mmHg). This results in a measure of instantaneous LV power (mmHg %/s). To finally obtain segmental myocardial work over time (mmHg %), (3) the instantaneous LV power has to be integrated over time.
