^aHuman isolates came from 21 cases of non-line scepticemia, 4 cases of line-associated scepticemia, and 14 healthy adults. Bovine strains were recovered from mastitic cattle, ovine strains were from mastitic sheep, and poultry strains were from various sources within a poultry processing plant (both environmental and carcasses).
