Fecal corticosterone metabolites (FCMs) and development of body weight. In prepubescent mice, there was a significant effect of genotype and a relevant interaction with sex, indicating higher metabolite levels in the female Gria1^–/– group as compared to female wild-type littermates (A). Gria1^–/– mice exhibited higher metabolite levels than wild-type littermates once sexually mature (B). Monitoring of body weight (C) confirmed a significant effect of genotype on all days of weight assessment with Gria1^–/– mice reaching lower body weights than wild-type littermates. n = 6–10 per genotype per sex.
