There were 8 categories according to the presence or absence of aphasia, dysarthria, and cognitive-related communicative dysfunction (cognitive dysfunction). Aphasia was present in patient types A–D (n = 92) and absent in patient types E–H (n = 222). Dysarthria was present in patient types A, B, E, and F (n = 154) and absent in patient types C, D, G, and H (n = 160). Cognitive dysfunction was present in patient types A, C, E, and G (n = 179) and absent in patient types B, D, F, and H (n = 135).
