Multivariable regression analyses demonstrated that prediabetes (HR: 1.14, 95% CI: 1.12–1.17) and DM (HR: 2.15, 95% CI: 2.07–2.24) were associated with a greater risk for the development of proteinuria than normal HbA1c category.
