The three diagrams show comparative data of the Defecation Indices (DI). Most Defecation Indices show difference between normal subjects and FI patients. The box represents the interquartile range, which contains the middle 50% of the records. The line across the box indicates the median. The whiskers are lines that extend from the upper and lower edge of the box to highest and lowest values which are no greater than 1.5 times the IQ range. Outliers are cases with values between 1.5 and 3 times the IQ range, i.e., beyond the whiskers. See text for statistical values.
