hrp gene expression in X. oryzae pv. oryzicola (Xoc) is regulated by vemR. Xoc wild-type RS105 and the deletion mutant strain RΔvemR were induced in XOM3 medium for the expression analysis of the hrp genes. The comparative-threshold method was used to calculate the relative transcript abundance with respect to the corresponding transcript in the RS105 strain. The expression level of the 16S rRNA gene was used as an internal control. Student t-test (p = 0.01 and 0.05) was used to separate significantly different means denoted by ** and *, respectively.
