A problematic pattern of alcohol use leading to clinically significant impairment or distress, as manifested by at least two of the DSM criteria occurring within a 12-month period. A score of three or more ‘yes’ responses on the first 7 questions indicates current alcohol dependence. A score of one or more ‘yes’ responses to the last 4 questions indicates current alcohol abuse
Injecting/sniffing/oral drugs 7 (Screening questions and scale items) C.A.G.E—AID [20] is a 4-item scale where a score of two ‘yes’ responses indicates a possible substance use disorder and a need for further testing.
