Table 1.

ICSD-3 criteria for Kleine–Levin Syndrome.

A  ≥2 recurrent episodes of hypersomnia, each persisting for 2 days to 5 weeks
B  Episodes recur at least 1 every 18 months
C  There is normal sleep, cognition, behavior, and mood between episodes
In addition, the patient should have at least one of the following:
  • (1)

    Hyperphagia

  • (2)

    Hypersexuality

  • (3)

    Abnormal behavior such as irritability, aggression

  • (4)

    Cognitive dysfunction such as confusion, derealisation, hallucinations
