Impact of diet on the effects of kisspeptin, leptin and adiponectin on oxytocin-induced contractions in 22-day pregnant rat uteri. The measurements were carried out in an isolated organ bath system. The high fat high sugar diet (HFHSD) did not modify the contraction response of pregnant uteri to oxytocin as compared with standard diet (SD) samples (dotted lines). Kisspeptin reduced oxytocin contractions in SD rats, which were ceased by HFHSD (a), while leptin increased the contractions in SD samples, which were also ceased in HFHSD rats (b).
