Figure 10

Impact of diet on the effects of kisspeptin, leptin and adiponectin on prostaglandin F (PGF)-induced contractions in 22-day pregnant rat uteri. The measurements were carried out in an isolated organ bath system. The high fat high sugar diet (HFHSD) did not modify the contraction response of pregnant uteri to PGF2α as compared with standard diet (SD) samples (dotted lines). Kisspeptin reduced PGF contractions in SD rats, which was further decreased by HFHSD (a). Leptin did not modify the contractions and the diet did not modify the effect of leptin either (b). Adiponectin did not modify the contractions in SD samples, but significantly reduced PGF contractions in HFHSD rats (c) **: p < 0.01; ***: p < 0.001.
