Opening question |
As a nurse, please describe the impact that witnessing people’s suffering during your day-to-day work has had on you.

Continuation |
Guided conversation |
How would you describe the suffering of the people you care for? Has your nursing work been affected? In your opinion, how important is it to put yourself in the patient’s shoes? What do you think you need in order to engage with suffering in a healthier manner? How do you respond to a person who is suffering? How do you feel after supporting a person who is suffering? Do you feel that there are aspects of your work that limit your ability to be empathetic or compassionate with patients and/or yourself?
